Vayu Sound is a collective and community organized around curating spaces for expression, dance, love, and compassion through sonic and visual resonance with forward thinking electronic music as it's backbone.

For Vayu Sound's launch we bring to you none other than an international institution of techno and electronic music, The Bunker New York. Founded by Bryan Kasenic , The Bunker New York has provided forward thinking subterranean atmospheres for dance music for 13 years now. Eric Cloutier, one of the Bunker's first residents is a highly esteemed selector that has held residencies at other clubs including The Works Detroit and Down. Eric has also been one of the selected to few to play Japan's Labyrinth festival.

“I like to keep it really body-oriented,” says the man of his inimitable DJ style. “I like to focus on hypnotising people in to a deep groove and just locking them in.”
House, dub, and techno are all fair game for Cloutier, and be they deep and driving tracks or harder hitting selections, every one bridges the gap between the old and the new in seamless and unpredictable ways (Resident Advisor).

Vayu Sound also welcomes the Los Angeles debut of Clay Wilson. Wilson’s life story is, for the most part, a mystery. Little is known about the 26-year-old producer, who began turning heads with mesmerizing tracks from his home base in Brooklyn last year. The deeply psychedelic groove of Clay’s debut release for Brooklyn's Styles Upon Styles’ Bangers and Ash series immediately caught our attention.

Before Wilson started making techno, he studied improvisation at music school in upstate New York. Wilson played bass, studying with noted jazz musicians who had worked with Ornette Coleman, Alice Coltrane, Herbie Hancock, and many artists who recorded for the ECM label. He counts Coleman, Coltrane, and Art Ensemble of Chicago among his major inspirations. You can sense the subtle traces of Wilson’s avant-garde jazz training in his techno. You can hear the shifting layers of intriguing textures in the music, his deep understanding of the low end, of arranging and composition, of form. “Understanding the foundation of form has allowed me to not worry so much about putting loops into a full ‘song’, which seems to be a common thing with electronic music,” he says. “I think the textures kind of come from trying to get away from standard musical ideas.”(The Bunker New York)

Along side the two Bunker artists another international techno institution, Droid Behavior/VRV will take stage by way of Subversive. Subversive's dubby, jacking, floor and body oriented styles is a masterpiece of carefully and intricately curated sets. As a Droid resident Subversive holds residencies at the label's highly acclaimed INTERFACE events in addition to other top-flight showcases such as PRIME and Blank Code's SCENE.
